Hey, I’m Selina. My entire life has been devoted to language. With four years of academic study in English and Chinese Linguistics and Translation, plus a decade of experience as a tutor, my profession and my story are one and the same.

Yet, despite my background, I didn't truly grasp the agony of the intermediate plateau until I faced it myself.

At school, I was the student who aced every exam but completely froze the moment a native speaker started talking. I absolutely hated the awkward silence and relying on others to translate, I was desperate to break through, so I enrolled a one year intensive speech training program, well, you can still hear my native accent, but I finally reached the point of "Flow."

This personal breakthrough led to my biggest realisation: Classroom learning is the foundation, but it won't make you sound natural. I saw that most training programs on the market are standard, exam-focused, and follow the same curriculum.

As a Chinese intonation coach for intermediate students, I felt a strong urge to help others speak naturally. I realized there was a huge gap—no one was teaching the flow! By combining my learning struggle and teaching expertise, I created The Mandarin Flow Accelerator: a targeted system for intermediates to ditch textbook Chinese and sound authentic.

Why did I build this? Because I know that incredible feeling of finally being able to genuinely connect with people in their native language. That experience is transformative when you're in a new country. My hope is that you can achieve that goal in Chinese, unlocking a deeper world that goes far beyond the surface level.
